Abstract
This paper is about a serial of results of experimental studies on the phones and phonemes of Chinese central vowels. The induction of phonemes should be conducted on the base of experimental study in theory, however, considering the complex principles of phoneme introduction and the features of Chinese syllable, the result of the introduction of Chinese phonemes have many possibilities. Our study shows that Korean students tend to introduce and conclude Chinese central vowels into three phonemes [ɛ], [o], and [ʌ]. This induction not only matches the results of experimental study, but also facilitates the teaching practice. Due to the diversity of phoneme induction, the pronunciation of a phoneme may vary in different Pinyin, thereafter, the relationship between allophone and phoneme should be paid attention in teaching Chinese phonetics to Korean students.
