Abstract

Modern Russia and its history are always of interest to the international scientific community. The paper identifies the current trends in the study of Russian history in English-speaking countries both in secondary and higher education systems in the context of humanities education. For better understanding of British academic process, the author elaborates on the UK education structure at all levels. The research reviews students’ knowledge assessment scale and requirements for it, project principles and its presentation. The study provides the examples of Russian history school textbooks by leading English publishing houses and analyzes their content, i. e. various tasks, additional materials, e-applications, exam tasks. From the perspective of higher education, the subject matter is represented by journals and university research centers aimed at studying various periods and aspects of Russian history, lecture courses, student works.
