Abstract

This research deals with the use of heritage in the novel "Sunflower", after it was able to make a distinct space for itself in the arena of the novel, due to its diagnosis of the living reality, through ideological messages and aesthetic values. The writer sought to establish an integrated narrative experience, and she searched for forms through which to prove her identity. Heritage was a prominent milestone that made the novel open to broad horizons and that her concern is not only to celebrate heritage, but to re-employ it, to discover and invest in its artistic energies. It employed heritage of all kinds (popular, religious, and historical), as the novel celebrated the heritage in form and content.
