Abstract

This study tried to verify whether ‘self-efficacy’ has a mediating effect when ‘occupational consciousness’ affects ‘job satisfaction’ by considering the characteristics of home-visiting careworkers. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaire from 366 careworkers working at 37 institutions in Chungcheongnam-do. We conducted descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, mediated regression, sobel test, etc. This study has three results. First, the occupational consciousness and self-efficacy of home-visiting careworkers had their own effects on the overall job satisfaction, but there was no mediating effect of self-efficacy. Second, the partial mediating effect of self-efficacy was found in the relationship between occupational consciousness and internal satisfaction, which is a sub-factor of job satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, countermeasures for enhancement of their sense of occupational consciousness, self-efficacy and job satisfaction were presented.
