Abstract

The article provides an analysis of one of the traditional Russian spiritual and moral values such as “patriotism”. Attention is drawn to the variability of the definitions of patriotism, as well as the object of affection within the framework of patriotic feeling, depending on the period in the history of the state or political system. The author notes the normative vacuum of the content of patriotism in the current period of time in Russia. The conclusion substantiates the expediency of eliminating the contradiction between constitutional terms, and also indicates important points that must be observed in this case.
