Abstract

The article substantiates the relevance of the development of the social competence of a future economist in the conditions of globalization, integration changes, requirements of state documents on education applicants and professionals in view of the success of the individual and a conscious civil society. It is emphasized on the interest in social competence, from the deep antiquity and the study of this phenomenon in relation to different groups. The key approaches to the interpretation of the concept of “social competence of the person” are outlined. It is revealed that concepts are considered on two levels: as a component of other competencies, in particular, professional and as through competence, generalization concept for a set of competencies, integral characteristics of the person, umbrella construction. It is revealed that in the broad sense the social competence implies knowledge of the history of development, functioning of society, taking into account the sociality of all competences in its content and form. In the narrow one – it characterizes the process of mastering the range of socio-psychological knowledge, moral and legal judgments necessary for successful adaptation and social activity, which determines the common characteristics and characteristics of socio-economic and professional activities and behavior of economists in the present conditions, changing of their functions. It has been determined that in accordance with this trend, such systemic aspects as cognitive, value-personality, activity and behavior that are manifested in the person-professional and personal-social levels and can be considered as components of the specified competence become more important.It was determined that social and cultural determinants influence the social competence in accordance with the values of the society, the requirements and features of professional activity, which is reflected in the specifics of the social competence of a future economist and a list of conditions for its formation in the educational process. The author’s point of view on the pedagogical conditions of the mentioned process is outlined.
