Abstract

New cooking and bleaching processes in the modern pulp mills demand a more effective way to remove harmful or non-process substances from the green liquor. To satisfy these demands, Ahlstrom has designed a new-type falling film cross-flow filtrator process (X-Filter) to eliminate completely the accumulation of certain harmful and alkaline insoluble substances into recovery cycle. This basic idea was at first time introduced in Japan Spring 1994.
