Abstract

Creating an effect in the receiver is part of the functions of the language. On its side, pragmatic theory has made it one of the principles of discursive production. Communication theories have also paid attention to the effectiveness of the media. In the current work, we will focus on the representations of effectiveness in the Algerian journalistic discourse. In order to do this, we will examine the quality of the journalistic language that can have a positive or negative impact on the receiver’s linguistic level. In any case, journalistic discourse is able to stimulate linguistic interactions, particularly through the use of translation. We will end up dealing with some communicative mechanisms such as exaggeration, provocation and the use of vocabulary referring to violence. These mechanisms are means by which the addresser attracts the interest of the receiver and seeks to have its feedback.
