Abstract

A clinical case of a child with a thermochemical burn of the cornea and conjunctiva, which occurred when particles of a lithium-ion battery got into the eyes, is presented. In the described case, a favorable outcome was observed due to the early provision of first and emergency medical care, as well as the high regenerative ability of the child’s cornea. Key words: thermochemical eye burn, lithium-ion battery, corneal burn, corneal erosion.
