Abstract
The kinematic of elite tennis players such as the elapsed time of each zone according to the serve type, the displacement of the racket, the speed, and the angle of the upper limb joint was analyzed and the following results were found. In the total time of each zone according to serve movement, FS is faster by 0.04sec. It seems that they need to enhance the racket head speed and ball speed by swinging the upper limb joints smoothly in order to perform efficient serve movements. In the displacement of the racket head according to serve type, TS showed relatively larger displacement in Left/Right (x) and Front/Rear (y) and FS showed stronger impact when the hitting point was high in the vertical axis (z). In the speed of the joints at impact, it was faster in the order of the elbows, wrists, racket heads and ball speeds. Generally speaking FS was relatively faster. In the angle of the wrist joints at impact, TS was 2° higher value and in the angle of the elbow joints, FS was 13° higher. In the angle of the shoulder joints, TS was 5° higher. From the results and discussions for the study, we need to reduce the elapsed time of each zone and to enhance the height of the racket and the speed of the upper limb joints and the speed of racket head at impact in order to perform the serve. It is also necessary to maintain the proper angle of the wrist at impact to make effective and strong serves.
