The regions of Siberia, Urals and the North-West of Russia, archaeologists until recently were not usually included in the area of distribution of megalithic cultures, although these regions are known for their megalithic monuments of different archaeological periods. Megalithic monuments are among the most sacred objects in archaeology. Made of “eternal” material, the megaliths had different functions - religious, astronomical, funerary, residential, defensive, production and others. For its size and volume the megaliths can be divided into 5 types: 1) the Nephilim - the most unique, the largest processed individual plates, boulders, rocks with a volume of 30 m3 and weighing more than 100 tons); 2) giants - rocks nith the volume from 15 to 28 m3; 3) large - with volumes from 10 to 14 m3; 4) medium - 6 to 9 m3; 5) small - volumes 1 to 5 m3. Giant stones are unique and occupy a special position in every monument and in the surrounding sacral landscape. Megaliths need not only protection but also study of the experts of different branches of science. A detailed study of the objects of megalithic heritage would provide a deeper understanding of the unity of the Eurasian geo-cultural space from ancient times to the present.
