Abstract

The purpose of this study was to conduct a survey on martial arts education conducted by domestic police education institutions, compare and analyze cases of martial arts education system of foreign police officers, and present practical problems and improvement directions to police officers. Through this study, the following results were obtained: First of all, if you look at the various environments of police officers" martial arts training, it is only installed in 17 local police offices and 251 police stations, excluding three police educational institutions: the National Police University, the Central Police School, and the National Police Human Resources Development Institute. Therefore, the need for budget expansion is required, and legislation must be made so that all police officers can use the sports facilities at their workplace. Since the nation"s police martial arts consists of defense-oriented arrest tactics in connection with human rights violations, police officers who frequently encounter outside detectives or public authorities whose prior control is important need martial arts training for preemptive control rather than defense. In order to be familiar with the crime scene and its situation, education through screens tailored to each situation is deemed necessary. It cannot be the same in actual field practice and simulation, but it is very effective for first-time police officers by reminding them of crime scenes and creating a similar environment. The martial arts training of foreign police officers turned out to be applying strong offensive techniques. In particular, the U.S. police are punishing criminals if they resist in the field. If the final policy proposal is to abolish the extra point system and institutionalize it as a precondition, it will help police officers achieve their goal of improving their martial arts abilities.
