Abstract

In spite of its effectiveness, pool therapy is not popular in rehabilitation because of the problem of cost or practical use. We developed a new type of pool therapy system which consists of threadmill in the bottom of small walking pool and water flow generating system. Using this system, we carried out under water training in 27 patients in early period. Seven patients of femoral neck fracture began under water walking at the third week after operation. No severe complication was encountered except for one case of pneumonia.Early under water walking seemed to be effective and useful to awake patients motivation.
