Abstract

Power disturbance refers to a phenomenon in which a sudden power failure, a momentary voltage sag or a power surge occurs due to events such as lightning under normal operating conditions. To suppress the effect of such electromagnetic disturbances on the power system, the Electricity Business Act stipulates the range and duration of voltage fluctuations to be maintained and specifies permitted values for harmonics that could otherwise overload or overheat electrical equipment or create noise.BRIn this paper, a voltage disturbance scatter diagram is generated based on the voltage fluctuation width and duration by measuring the voltage input into the power distribution panel, and a clustering algorithm is applied to the voltage disturbance scatte diagram(ITIC curve) to cluster the measured values into at least one cluster. In addition, a simulation is conducted showing the process of determining the medoid that varies depending on the initial clustering conditions, and a method is suggested for applying it to the developed electric power quality diagnostic controller.
