Abstract

This paper studied the relationship between college student`s television watching behavior of first Korean major leaguer Chan-Ho Park`s games and several independent variables; demographic variables, attitudes of sports, attitudes of baseball, knowledge of baseball, attitudes of major league, and social conditions. Male has watched more Chan-Ho Park`s games than female, and student majoring in engineering and natural science watched more than other major students. Student who like sports and baseball showed higher ratio of watching Park`s games than students who do not kike sports and baseball, which was anticipated. Student knowing many baseball knowledge had more watching experiences that others. Student having frequent watching behavior on TV professional baseball games and having concern about major league baseball had watched more Park`s games than having not. The question about the impact of his games on people`s atmosphere showed that the watching ratio between the two yes and no groups did not have differences. Students showed that even though his is a famous Korean major leaguer his game could not be regarded as a match between nations but it could regarded as an individual`s performance.
