Abstract
In 2018 "Ararat" magazine celebrated its 150th anniversary. It is the first magazine in Eastern Armenia, the first official newspaper of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The publication of the magazine was initiated by Catholicos Gevorg IV, who also restored the printing house founded by Catholicos Simeon of Yerevan, reequipped it with printing materials and modern equipment. Focusing on religious and moral, historical and philological, educational and cultural, scientific and manuscript materials, the magazine also touches upon libraries and library collections, highlighting their primary significance in providing the quality of education, obtaining and supplying textbooks and training handbooks, in upbringing and development of children and teenagers, building their inter-personal relationships, in the enlightenment and progress of the society.
