Abstract

The article analyzes the essence of the circular migration. There was an attempt to define clear criteria which will help to distinguish the circular migration from other return types of migration. An analysis of existing approaches to the concept of circular migration was made; the main methods and data sources for its assessment were investigated. The circular migration definition was revised, the key aspects of the phenomenon were highlighted, on the basis of which a classification of circular migration was proposed. During the research the main types of information sources on the assessment of circular movements were listed, the shortcomings of existing methods for accounting of circular migration were identified, and prospects for further research on this phenomenon were outlined.
