Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the current problems of Drama therapy and the possibility of future development through the history of healing Drama in Korea. For this purpose, as an interpretative research method, we conducted an Internet search for domestic and foreign academic journals and dissertations related to drama therapy and drama, collected literature data through overseas books related to drama therapy, and interviewed six pioneer drama therapists who were active in the early 1990s in Korea. The interview target was a total of 6 drama therapists who were active in Korea after graduating of an overseas school, who were the representatives of association or who were trainers for drama therapists. Interviews were conducted over the phone, face-to-face and online(e.g.email) For the growth of Drama therapy, the following should be considered. The first, the establishment of Korean drama therapy identity. secondly. establishing a specialized supervision systems for Drama therapy trainees. Thirdly. a legal system must be established to guarantee the status and rights of Drama therapist as health professional.
