Abstract
Today in Russia there is a task of import substitution, the market of lubricant additives sets very high requirements for quality and economic performance. An integral part of the compositions of modern motor oils are detergent-dispersant additives. Specialists must quickly cope with such requests, so it is worth paying special attention to the collection and analysis of previous technologies and discoveries in order to be able to improve them. It is the superalkaline alkylphenol additives that have shown high technological performance in various operating modes for many years, and this is precisely what meets the requirements of today. Also, great attention should be paid to the availability of raw materials. The challenge is to find the optimal production scale synthesis of alkylphenol, as well as a new catalyst, and the production of alkylphenol salts with a selected metal cation that will meet operational requirements.
