Abstract

The authors have proposed and developed the 「mall model」 as a planning method for elementary and middle schools. Devising the location of school buildings to produce mall space, which should be the central space of the school itself, and should also be main approach to the school, the mall model is a planning method which open up a school to their local communities. And this planning method adapt school buildings to combining another facilities, such as lifelong education centers or institutions for old persons.
