Abstract
Most historians estimate that more than 40,000 people fell victim to the Stalinist repressions in 1937-1938. At this place, now known as Ata-Beyit, are the bodies of 137 people who were shot in 1938 for being "nationalists, enemies of the people." The victims were reburied in Ata-Beit only after Kyrgyzstan gained independence. The scientific article examines the fate of individuals who invested in national values such as: education, culture, literature, linguistics, people’s independence and their specific actions, literary, cultural inheritances, which were the basis of the repression.
