Abstract

As the Great Patriotic War is considered in the history of the Soviet state to be a triumph of courage, demonstration of heroism, loyalty and devotion to the homeland of its peoples, it is worth mentioning about the Berlin operation — one of the most famous offensives of the Great Patriotic War where representatives of many nationalities of the Soviet Union took an active part. Being based on the historiographical review on the participation of the Chechen soldiers in the Great Patriotic War, the article provides an analysis of personal data of the participants of the Berlin operation to estimate the contribution of the Chechen people to the defeat of Nazi Germany, who fought bravely in the capture of Berlin. The author has reconstructed the battle path of 16 Chechen soldiers. Special attention was paid to their heroic actions. Thus, the author comes to the conclusion that the national unity of all peoples has become the key to the great Victory of the USSR over Nazi Germany.
