Abstract

Korean language showed grammatical relations depending on changes of postposition and suffix that are attached behind the stem. The postposition in Korean is attached behind word, phrase and sentence indicating various grammatical meanings but, there’s no specific lexical meaning.BR “eh” and “eh-seo” are one of alternations phenomena which relatively have representability and often indicate ‘the location.’ “eh” and “eh-seo” are quite similar in terms of meaning and grammar. In general, they respond to Chinese preposition of “在” and people who learn Korean find it difficult to understand them.BR Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the meaning and usage between Korean alternations phenomena of “eh”, “eh-seo” and Chinese preposition of “在” which means the location and furthermore, compare the correspondence of these two languages. In addition, this study aims to minimize errors occurred when learning, by analyzing omission condition of these three words, considering that the biggest error occurred while learning the postposition of Korean is the omission.BR It’s expected that this study could be much useful to learn and conduct research on Korean alternations phenomena of “eh” and “eh-seo” and Chinese preposition of “在” for the people who learn Korean.
