Abstract

Korea National Treasure No. 24, Seokguram, is a World Heritage Site designated by UNESCO. With this relationship, it has established itself as a cultural heritage representing Korea. However, since the 1980s, protection angles were installed, making it impossible for general visitors to enter. Hence, even when visiting Seokguram in Gyeongju, people cannot properly appreciate it. The main solution to this is to view Seokguram by an alternate means through digital image technology. Thus, a myriad of “video contents” have been produced for Seokguram over the past decade. However, thus far no digital content has been able to implement Seokguram effectively or satisfy those who wish to view it. This study of Seokguram Temple seeks to present future-oriented Seokguram XR content via proper technology and imagery.
