Abstract

<p>The article examines the development of Sinology in Russia in the middle of the 19<sup>th</sup> century, the main milestones in the biography of one of the largest researchers in China of this period — K.A. Skachkov and other participants in the Russia Orthodox Spiritual Mission, whose documents were deposited in his archive, an overview of the archival fund and collection of manuscript books by K.A. Skachkov, which are stored in the Manuscript Department of the Russian State Library.</p>
