Abstract

This article is the first to present a complex comparative study of the Russian Kondakars and Serbian Kondakar without notation from collection of A. I. Khludov No. 189 stored in the State Historical Museum (Moscow). Unlike the Russian Kondakaries the Serbian contains only Kontakions and Oikoi hymns related to the Menaion, which are gathered in two calendar groups from September to August (the main and the additional, 175 feasts total, being thus the most complete collection at the moment). Composition of the Menologion, hymnographic texts and other features of Serbian Kondakar testify that it belongs to a different, possibly a younger liturgical tradition.
