Abstract

With the advent of the 4th industrial revolution, technological development is changing so rapidly that it is difficult to predict 10 years from now. There are many voices concerned that it will be difficult to overcome the serious technological gap. In response to this, various institutional efforts, are being made, but it i s true that more time and effort a re s till n eeded to i nnovatively improve the current complex and strict acquisition process. The United States chose the OTA system that can customize the contract terms between the contracting parties beyond the traditional contract system. As a result, the DoD was able to introduce commercial technology inexpensively and efficiently for military purposes, In this paper, the characteristics and use cases of the OTA system can be applied and developed in Korea's weapon system acquisition system. It is hoped that these suggestions will serve as a foundation for future force development work that can realize Defense Innovation 4.0.
