Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the representation of the concept “LONELINESS” in lexicographic sources. The author makes an attempt to identify the typical means of the verbalization of the concept “LONELINESS” in English linguistic culture, to establish the specific features of their structuring and functioning, and to analyze and describe the constitutive features of the concept “LONELINESS” as a structure of knowledge. The obtained results allow speaking about the detailed desobjectivation of the analyzed concept by means of English lexicography, and also considering its value, conceptual and figurative components.
