Abstract
This paper is concerned with the development of a wireless stethoscope system for diagnosis of cardiac disorders. This system consists of an electronic stethoscope, a sound converter circuit, audio wireless transmitter and receiver modules and a computer. The cardiac sound is easily acquired by the electronic stethoscope and transmit to computer by audio wireless modules for abnormal cardiac sound monitoring and diagnosis. A filter with the eardrum mechanical characteristic is designed and characteristic waveforms are obtained by applying the recorded heart sound signals through the filter. Some experimental examples have shown that the characteristic waveforms are powerful to diagnosis the abnormal heart sound and easy operation for the users who even have no special knowledge on the cardiac diagnosis.
