Abstract

Buck-Boost Converter is a non-insulated Converter with a wide input range and could receive various voltage as an input However, as research for high efficiency of power conversion system progresses, the need to reduce semiconductor losses is increased. Buck-Boost Converter has a disadvantage in that a high conduction losses and a switching losses due to a forward voltage drop of diode. In this paper, the reduction of conduction losses was verified by comparing conduction losses of Synchronous Buck-Boost Converter and conduction losses of conventional Buck-Boost Converter, and the application of CRM(Critical Conduction Mode) control was demonstrated through experiments.
