Abstract

The drastic increase in life expectancy of the population, referred to as “silver tsunami” and demanding the development of such an entirely new branch of medical science as “anti-age medicine”, is one of the most pressing issues of modern demography. It is believed that aging of the body is inevitably associated with reduced quality of life, however, this postulate is currently urgently refuted, that is why the term “successful growing-up” is most relevant for the 21st century. There is a number of scientific studies focused on certain mechanisms underlying cellular senescence, which should be the therapeutic targets for prediction of age-related disorders. Thus, it is necessary to summarize the scientific evidence available and structure the modern approaches that contribute to “successful growing-up” under the innovation anti-aging concept.
