Abstract

The article deals with an obscure almanac "Daguerreotype" (1842) by Nestor Kukolnik. His publishing strategy is reconstructed through the analysis of the contents of the almanac and the features of its publication, as well as through the examination of Kukolnik’s diaries, introduced into scientific circulation for the fi rst time; based on several critical reviews of the Daguerreotype, conclusions regarding the place of the almanac in the literary fi eld of the 1840s are drawn.
