The relationship between sources of risk identification, the fact of risk realization and the consequences of the occurrence of a risk event is examined in detail. During the analysis, a grouping of risk identification and analysis tools was proposed, and a separate study of general and specific risk identification tools was conducted. To organize the risk management process at an enterprise, it is proposed to introduce classification criteria and classification risk groups, with the aim of subsequent effective structural work with these risk groups in the direction of minimizing possible damage and reducing the likelihood of negative consequences.
