Abstract

This study uses survey data and analyzes how organizational culture of sport associations and individual characteristics of workers affect development planning for the organization. While the importance of development planning for sport organizations has been well recognized, the study to investigate the relationship between the two is hardly found. Using competing values model and quantitative analyses, the results of this study show that group culture and hierarchical culture affect the workers` perception on the importance of development plan and planning, while developmental culture and rational culture do not. In addition, demographic characteristics such as gender, employment status and career influence either the importance of plan that the workers perceive, or involvement of the workers in planning processes.
