Abstract

The research aims to substantiate the need for media culture formation in a future teacher in the process of studying at a pedagogical university. The paper explains the role of media culture in professional activities of a teacher, identifies the significance of the pedagogical conditions described, provides examples of practical tasks for media culture formation in a future teacher. Scientific novelty of the research lies in clarifying the notion of the “media culture of a future teacher” and developing methodological recommendations for the organisation of classes directed at media culture formation in a future teacher. As a result, it has been shown that media culture formation is aimed at improving the personality and professionalism of a future teacher in the aspect of using media in professional activities.
