Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate practical anguishes that coaches of gymnastic student athletes have. Currently, Korea gymnastic team is getting poor records because of the lack of all round player. In other words, athletes of national gymnastic team are educated by coaches who concentrate on an area of apparatus gymnastics have been lost the international events due to their low athletic performance as a all round player. Therefore the present study attempted to analyze why gymnastic coaches did not educate all round players by considering their practical anguish as a athlete coach. Student athlete coaches (n=5) who were educating apparatus gymnastic teams at elementary and secondary schools participated in the present study. Data were collected by in-depth interviews with all participants. Collected interview data were analyzed by analytic induction method. According to the results, the participants were suffered from gaps between their coaching philosophy and sport for winning sake, treatment problems related to their position, and structural problems around gymnastic athlete teams.
