Abstract
On the Arman basalt plateau, 130 species of vascular plants occur on the area about 3.5 km2 at altitudes of 900-1250 m ASL. Two of them, Caragana jubata and Magadania olaënsis, are included in the Red Data Book of Magadan Oblast, the latter is introduced in the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation. Almost all plant species occurring on Mt. Bazaltovaya are characteristic for the Ola basalt plateau. Despite its small area, the Arman plateau is a floristic refuge with the compositionally and geographically heterogeneous flora. For its protection, it is necessary to increase the area of the Bazaltovy natural geological sanctuary.
