Abstract

The article considers the factors that determine the success of people in different situations and activities. The problems of practical thinking and the distinctive features of the practical mind from the theoretical mind are revealed. The conditions of the formation of practical and theoretical thinking are analyzed. Modern psychological concepts of wisdom are reflected. Wisdom is seen as a manifestation of practical thinking, which is aimed at solving everyday problems and successfully adapting to the environment. Several groups of properties are described that define a wise person: individually-cognitive; experimental and practical; personal; moral and ethical. The development of wisdom depends on the level of appropriation of socio-psychological standards related to the social and cultural environment of a particular society in which the subject develops. To understand the essence of the socio-psychological normative, it is legitimate to use such a construct as normative acceptance. Normative adoption can be defined as a conscious or unconscious, individually expressed desire of the individual to follow the requirements accepted in society
