Abstract

The article is devoted to the creative personality of the poet-songwriter Yosyp Fyshtyk – the author of the lyrics “This land is Ukraine”, “The lullaby language”, “Ukrainian custom”, “Grandchildren”,“The song you can’t forget”, which occupies a prominent place in the contemporary Ukrainian poetry and song art. It analyzes the stages of his creative activity, describes the professional and artistic achievements. Much attention is paid to the journalistic activity of Yosyp Fyshtyk at the Drohobych Regional Radio “The Land of Franko”. The significant publications in the creative biography of the artist such as “The Cathedral of the Daily Grace” and “Context of Ukraine: let’s be ourselves” are considered. Also, the proposed exploration highlights the cooperation of the artist with well-known contemporary composers Bohdana Filts, Mykola Lastovetskiy, Anatoliy Horchynskiy, Lyudmyla Yermakova, Ihor Vovchak, Anatoliy Bezuhlenkov, as well as with performers of his songs Raisa Kirichenko, Maria Shalaykevych, Antonina Marenych, Olexander Vasilenko, Vasyl Korch and other. The lyric poetry compilations of Fyshtyck “Mom, stay with us” (Drohobych, 2011), “Franko’s well” (Drohobych, 2012), “You can’t forget the song that blooms from ruta” (Drohobych, 2013) and others, which are a bright page of Ukrainian song creation are also analyzed. These editions are intended to become an important source in the training of talented patriotic-minded Ukrainian youth. The musical and public activities of the artist are considered. As a result, an attempt was made to depict a holistic art portrait of a famous poet-songwriter from Drohobych, who actively and productively works on the cultural and artistic field of our state.
