Abstract

The article analyzes philosophical aspect of modern social communication taking into account the growing influence of information technologies. The author considers the basic problems of social communication, identifies positive and negative aspects of network communication, reveals the basic notions of communication theory, briefly describes communication models, summarizes their basic characteristics, advantages and shortcomings. The research objective is as follows: relying on existential approach, the author tries to identify the specificity of modern communication. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the researcher provides a comprehensive analysis of modern network communication, examines the problems of interpersonal perception. The conducted research allows drawing the following conclusions: despite the shortcomings of mediated communication, such as the lack of interpersonal perception, network communication, appeared as a result of technological development, rapidly asserted itself as a form of social interaction. Obviously, over time mediated communication will increasingly prevail over the traditional one.
