Abstract

The purpose of this study is to kinematics analysis of wrist to the down escaping motion in Hapkido self-defense, and the following results were derived. First, the total duration time was .59±.11 s, showing the longest required time in the order of P1, P2, and P3. Second, it was found that the leftward/rightward displacement of the COM(center of mass) moved .04 m to the leftward direction, the forward/backward displacement of the COM moved 0.16 m in the forward direction, and the vertical displacement of the COM moved .06 m in the downward direction. Third, the COM velocity showed the fastest velocity in the order of forward, vertical downward, and leftward. Fourth, the angles of the shoulder joint and the elbow joint were all flexed as the movement progressed. Also, the angles of the hip, knee, and ankle joints were all flexed. In addition, the trunk tilt angle was also found to be flexed forward. Summarizing the above results, the Hapkido self-defense technique of wrist to the down escaping is judged to be effective in removing the wrist by momentarily moving forward and lowering the COM to take a stable posture, and by putting one
