Abstract

The article presents an analytical method for calculating the characteristics on an induction motor fitted with combined windings, the use of which makes it possible to study the motor’s main parameters in its working and startup modes. The obtain edequations were used to transform the Slavyanka type winding into the equivalent Wanlass winding, which is considered in detail in the foreign literature, and its parameters have been determined. The article presents the study results showing the effect the winding transformation ratio has on the equivalent circuit parameters, and how the ratios of their resistances affect the characteristics in the working mode. It has been found from the analysis result sthatthemot or fitted a combined winding has the best performance characteristics when the ratio of winding turns and wire cross sections are equal to the ratio between the phase and line-to-line voltage. Calculation of the startup and working characteristics of a standard induction motor and an induction motor fitted with combined windings is presented, and their comparison is given. The main advantages and drawbacks of motors fitted with a Slavyanka type winding are given.
