Abstract
This paper describes thermal analysis of a cooling channel in high-speed permanent magnet motor for a 75 kW, 73,000 rpm class turbo-compressor. To cope with the demagnetization risk of permanent magnet motor in the turbo-compressor, the numerical analysis was performed to the cooling channels and the model of the PM motor. Two types of the cooling channel, water cooling channel and air cooling channel, are compared. The air cooling channel is excellent with respect to cooling performance. Also, the cooling performance according to the shape of the air cooling channel was conducted.
