Abstract

In light of what the world is witnessing today of the tremendous development in communication and information technology, and in light of its negative use, new images and forms of terrorism have emerged called electronic terrorism, whose use appeared and popularized after the great boom achieved by information technology and the use of computers in general, and the Internet in general. Especially in managing most of life's activities. The current study deals with the concept of electronic terrorism, its features, the causes of its spread, and its harms. It also dealt with recent trends to confront electronic terrorism, represented by the experiences of some countries, international and human rights bodies, and the role of education in addressing its destructive effects on societies and individuals. The study found that confronting electronic terrorism requires educational institutions to adopt new roles in preparing young people for life in the digital age, and to develop a comprehensive vision that educational institutions adopt, by strengthening the culture of rational use of websites, developing awareness of the dangers of electronic terrorism, and rooting for a culture of dialogue and thinking.
