Abstract
Currently, domestic science is actively studying the role and activities of historical personalities of the Kazakh steppe aimed at preserving the identity of the Kazakhs during the period of political domination of the Russian Empire.The role of the individual in society and its influence on it, today is often raised in world historiography. There is quite a lot of historical evidence about the merits of the steppe elite, including batyrs, biys, zhyrau. And one of these people was Zhangir Bokeyev, Khan of the Inner Kirghiz Horde.In this article, we will talk not only about his management method, but also about his high intelligence, which made it possible to preserve local national values in such a difficult period.
