Abstract
In this study, in order to investigate the skin-whitening and anti-wrinkle effects of white sword bean extract, hydrothermal extract was performed with ethanol content of 20%, 50%, and 80%. In order to confirm the skin-whitening effect, a tyrosinase inhibitory activity experiment was conducted, and to confirm the wrinkle improvement effect, a collagenase inhibitory activity experiment was performed. As a result of the tyrosinase inhibitory activity assay, it was shown that the inhibition (%) was increased in a concentration-dependent manner according to the ethanol content, and in particular, the 80% ethanol extract showed high tyrosinase inhibitory activity similar to the control, kojic acid. As a result of the collagenase inhibitory activity assay, all extracts showed a higher inhibition (%) than the control, ascorbic acid. Through the results of this study, demonstrated the skin-whitening and anti-wrinkle effects of white sword bean were confirmed, and it is expected to be utilized as a natural functional ingredient in various fields of cosmetics.
