Abstract
The article for the first time identifies the genre peculiarities of V. B. Bronevsky’s travelogue “Navy Officer’s Itinerary throughout the Mediterranean Sea Campaign under the Command of the Vice-Admiral D. N. Senyavin (1805-1810)”, which manifest themselves in the combination of different narrative strategies used by the author - traveller, documentarian and historian, eyewitness and writer, creator of his own “Song about Foreign Land”. The emphasis is made on the forms and ways of implicit expression of the author’s orientation towards artistry of narration, which determines the specificity of the travelogue genre modification.
