Abstract

The purpose of this study was to comprehensively examine the flow of art therapy ethics research through a scoping review of the topic of art therapy ethics research in South Korea and Overseas and to derive future directions of art therapy ethics and implications for research. This study analyzed a total of 29 aca-demic journal papers from 2000 to August 2023, and the research results are as follows. First, research on art therapy ethics that reflects the circumstances of the times must be continuously conducted. Second, research on art therapy ethics concepts and practical measures should be discussed together, and ethics research applicable to art therapist education and art therapy clinical sites should be expanded. Third, studies applying various research methods that can look at art therapy ethics from various angles should be actively conducted. Fourth, research on art therapy ethics that takes cultural diversity into account should be actively conducted. This study is significant in that it confirmed and synthesized the flow of art therapy ethics research, promoted the development of art therapy studies and expanded the expertise of art therapists, and suggested the direction of art therapy ethics research.
