Abstract

This study investigates the physical performances of membrane materials that can be possible applied to movable shading devices. Various experiments and tests were conducted in lab settings based on the guidelines suggested for standard tests for the materials. Result indicates that folded tensile strength was similar to tensile strength. The tensile strength of materials which were exposed to ultraviolet was 30 % of that of material which was not exposed to ultraviolet. The resistance against contamination of all tested material do not satisfy domestic requirements but meet some of foreign standards.
