Abstract

The article describes the apparatus for determining the types of modulation based on cumulants. A new approach based on cumulants up to the eighth order is considered. The rationale for the use of the cumulant method is given. The results of the application of artificial neural networks in the task of automating the detection of signs of intrapulse modulation for the identification (classification) of signals are presented. A mathematical model of characteristic types of modulation used in radar and communications has been developed. The main properties of each type of signals are described and a method is proposed that allows one to determine the type of modulation based on the calculation of informative features. The simulation was carried out in Matlab/Simulink.
